Cuyahoga River

The product is named after the Cuyahoga river in the United States. In 1969, the Cuyahoga river caught fire. The fire was attributed to years of pollution from industrial waste. The fire of 1969 sparked the creation of the EPA and the Clean Water Act. Today, the river is in moderate health with many parts of the rivers eco-system returning. It is still known as one of the most polluted rivers in the United States. The Cuyahoga is a textbook example of the time and effort it takes to re-build a river but also provides a glimpse of hope that pollution can be eliminated.
