This product is named after the one of the most important rivers in history, the Euphrates. One of the earliest references of the river comes in the mid-3rd millennium BCE. The Euphrates, along with the Tigris defined Mesopotamia (Land Between Rivers). The Euphrates flows through Turkey, Syria and Iraq and is a main source of agricultural irrigation. Unfortunately, pollution from agricultural runoff and untreated wastewater has left water quality in the river extremely poor.

This product is dedicated to the Euphrates river! We use 100% organic cotton and GOTS certified low-impact dyes that are treated at a wastewater treatment plant in all our blankets! No pesticides, less energy, less water and better soil for a brighter tomorrow.

  • Machine wash cold (max 40C).
  • Hang dry or tumble dry on low heat
  • Do not use fabric softeners or dryer sheets (weakens thread)
  • Do not use bleach (try baking soda and vinegar)

Should any loops get caught or stretch, cut the longest part of the loop with sharp pair of scissors, to the same length as all other fibers. This will not cause a hole or unraveling of the thread.

*The towel becomes more absorbent over time and it could take a few uses before working at its best.

If one of the tassels comes undone, follow these easy steps to fix it:

  1. Divide thread into two equal parts
  2. Twist each section separately in a clockwise direction until each end is twisted to the ends.
  3. Now twist the two sections together in a counterclockwise direction until the two sections are twisted fully.
  4. Tie a knot at the end, leaving a little of the thread to hang and you're done!
